A comprehensive qualification program led by ASC Pty Ltd and U.S. submarine builders, supported by the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA), is opening new doors for Australian industry in the AUKUS supply chain.

The Defence Industry Vendor Qualification (DIVQ) Program, developed in partnership with the U.S. government, connects ASC with General Dynamics Electric Boat and HII Newport News Shipbuilding to fast-track Australian suppliers for the Virginia Class submarine build.

Nearly 170 expressions of interest have been submitted by Australian businesses to supply components such as valves, castings, pipe fittings, and machined parts. Several are now in the final stages of qualification and expected to compete for contracts soon.

As the program expands, more opportunities will be listed via the Industry Capability Network (ICN), enabling broader participation across the defence sector.

Building on early success, ASA and ASC are now working with U.S. and UK partners to extend DIVQ to support all three AUKUS nations – creating new pathways for Australian companies to contribute parts, services, and repairs.

ASC CEO Stuart Whiley says the program builds on decades of sovereign capability: “ASC has built a trusted network of skilled suppliers that delivers mission-critical capability to the Royal Australian Navy.”

Interested businesses can contact ASC or visit the ICN for upcoming opportunities.
